NDP Wins the 42nd British Columbia general election
UPDATE (October 26 2020) The BC NDP has won the general election
During a pandemic an election has been called in British Columbia on October 24, 2020. Lets take a look at what each party is promising.
NDP and Liberal Platform Promises
NDP
John Horgan and the BC NDP is promising to work for “You”, they are promising the following:
- Rebuild schools
- Affordable childcare
- Affordable housing
Not many details have been given by the NDP, and we have reached out to local MLA’s but got no response to any of our questions regarding details of their plan to “work for You”.

BC Liberals
The BC Liberals are promising to rebuild BC lead by Andrew Wilkinson, are promising many things including to:
- Eliminate PST for 1 year
- End the ICBC monopoly so that drivers can pick the best rate available and have true choice in auto insurance.
- $10 a day child care for low-income
- $1 billion over five years in new long-term care facilities
- tax credit for seniors of up to $7,000 a year for the cost of their home care.
