What is a Bill of Lading​

A bill of lading are documents used in the shipping of goods, these documents include: 

  • check-in documents
  • dock door assignments
  • seal verifications
  • receipt for shipped goods
  • contract between a carrier and shipper
Typically bills of lading are handled by various people including the truck driver, distribution center employees and office workers. Issues such as sanitation, potential spread of viruses, damage of paper documents and loss of documents can occur when physical bills of lading are used.
