How big is a Shipping Container?

Shipping containers typically come in lengths of 8 feet, 10 feet, 20 feet, 40 feet, 45 feet and 53 feet, with the 20 and 40 foot versions used for ship transport. Shipping containers come in two heights: standard height and high cube.

Standard Height

Standard cube or height containers are 8ft (2.43m) wide, 8.5ft (2.59m) high and typically come in lengths of 20 feet and 40 feet. 

High Cube

High cube containers are 8ft (2.43m) wide and 9.5ft (2.89m) high and come in lengths of 20 feet, 40 feet and 53 feet.
