What is a mixed load?

A “Mixed Load” in logistics is when a shipping container is loaded with different types of items loaded in no apparent order. So we are not talking about laundry here. Usually when a container is loaded, proper care is taken to sort out the items for easy unloading. But sometimes a shipper will load the container without any thought mixing different Styles, PO’s, SKU’s and product. So instead of the contents of the container coming out in an orderly fashion, they come out completely mixed.

An Avalanche

An “avalanche” is when a container arrives with the contents have scattered around during transportation. Below are examples of an avalanche in a container.
