What is material handling?
Material handling refers to the process of moving material usually by hand or machine within a warehouse, distribution center and manufacturer. Materials that require handling could include boxes, crates, products and packaging.
What will material handling look like in 2021?
Covid has changed how materials are handled at warehouses and other facilities, these changes include but are not limited to:
- Single person handling of materials
- Single person use of equipment used for material handling such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Wearing masks, face shields and gloves when handling all materials and equipment
- No touch or minimal touch material handling
